16-May-2001The promotion and demotion of umpires will be effective from theforthcoming 2001-2002 domestic season which begins in October.The umpires will be promoted from Grade-II to Grade-I and demoted toGrade-II from Grade-I on the basis of their performance in the justconcluded domestic season and refresher course to be held in July orAugust.The decision was taken at the National Umpires Committee meeting heldrecently in Lahore. The umpires committee comprise Mahboob Shah(chairman), Said Shah and Mian Mohammad Aslam.The committee will meet again in June to give a concrete shape to thedecision taken during this meeting.
