Chelsea are reportedly closing in on the deal to sign Rennes' Guela Doue this summer before sending the 21-year-old on loan to Strasbourg.

As per Gianluca di Marzio, Chelsea are set to sign Doue this summer for a reported fee of €7 million (£5.8m/$7.6m) with €2 million (£1.6m/$2.1m) in add-ons. However, the Blues will immediately send the defender back on loan to Ligue 1. However, he will not return to Rennes and will rather join Strasbourg, who share the same ownership group as Chelsea.

Guela is the elder brother of Desire Doue, who has been a major target for multiple top clubs this summer including Chelsea. However, the Blues will likely miss out on the 19-year-old as Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich remain top contenders for the younger Doue.
