According to despite the expiration of Olmo's €60 million (£50m/$66m) release clause on July 20, Leipzig remains open to negotiations. The Bundesliga club are aware of the widespread interest in their playmaker, with Manchester City, Atletico Madrid, and Bayern Munich among the potential suitors along with Barcelona – who are making a determined effort to secure the Spaniard's signature.

Barcelona's inability to activate Olmo's exit clause upfront has led them to devise a new payment strategy. The club is looking to structure the transfer fee to fit their financial constraints and could propose to offer a base transfer fee of €40 to €50m, potentially paid in up to three installments. The remaining amount to reach the €60m valuation would be covered through performance-based bonuses.
