Stefan Ortega has proved to be an able back-up for Pep Guardiola, with his presence contributing to exit talk in Manchester. Ederson, who is now 30 years of age, is said to have become a top target for big-spending sides in the Middle East.
WHAT EDERSON SAID
Ederson was, however, a penalty shootout hero for City in their 2024 Community Shield clash with Manchester United – as he saved and scored from the spot – and told after that contest of the speculation that he has been generating: “It’s over. I spoke with some players, the coach, director, everyone. I talked to my family and it was a joint decision. We’ll stay more years at City. The media says many things, sometimes inventing a little more. But I’ve already decided my future, especially after the conversation I had with Guardiola. This season, I’m totally focused at City with my team-mates in search of more titles.”
